START is an organisation that provides early intervention, counselling and support for children, youth and adults and their families who have experienced sexual violence or other trauma.  Our focus is providing accessible, integrated services based on best practice. START also provides education about sexual violence and other trauma to the wider community.

Vision

  1. To provide specialist recovery services for people who have experienced sexual violence or other trauma, their families and supporters.
  2. To provide specialist advice and support for the community about sexual violence and other trauma.
  3. To develop and provide education programmes about sexual violence and other trauma to the wider community.
  4. To engage in activities that promote the interests of people who have experienced sexual violence and/or other trauma.
  5. To engage in activities that promote and support the integration and collaboration of social services within the wider community.

START is committed to client confidentiality however this is limited when we have safety concerns. This means that if START becomes aware of situations where children, young persons or adults are at risk appropriate action will be taken.
